Quills

Blurb: A relatively historical film about the life of the Marquis De Sade, infamous French author in the time of their revolution, reknowned for his pornographic novellas which lead to the creation of the term "sadism." It's an utterly disturbing movie, but not without its good moments. The viewing party cheering for this movie. It was our "sex film," and that phrase ultimately described the plot. I found it to be a great story, and truly shocking. I shall warn you though, this isnt the movie to watch with your parents - lots of naked women, small penii (penises..err), and gruesome scenes. It made me happy to watch, only because its a very well done movie, although the ending leaves you sad and frustrated; similar to a really perverted version of Romeo and Juliet with crazy people.
Starring: Geoffrey Rush as the Marquis De Sade, Kate Winslet as the seductive laundry maid, and Joaquin Phoenix as the priest of the asylum
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
